Our Mission & Operational Standards
-Our Mission-
To provide families with absolute certainty by delivering disciplined, proactive oversight and advocacy for their aging loved ones. We transform the anxiety of distance into the confidence of a highly structured, local protective presence.-The S.S.A. Difference: Built on Discipline, Driven by Precision-
Shores Senior Assist was not built like a traditional caregiving agency; it was engineered as a private family operations center. The foundation of our system combines the tactical situational awareness and rigid accountability of a United States Army Infantry background with the analytical precision of a Six Sigma Black Belt.We approach family risk management the same way elite organizations approach continuous improvement: by eliminating vulnerabilities before they become liabilities. Every service we provide—from the Daily Beacon™ check-ins to our rigorous contractor vetting—is driven by standardized protocols designed to intercept risk, reduce chaotic variables, and ensure absolute reliability for the families we serve.-Our Core Values (Standard Operating Procedures)-Relentless Accountability: We own the outcome. When a family entrusts us with oversight, there are no unreturned calls, missed details, or dropped responsibilities. If an issue arises on the ground, we intercept, escalate, and resolve it.Proactive Risk Mitigation: Hope is not a strategy. We do not wait for a crisis to occur. We actively audit environments, manage maintenance logistics, and intercept predatory scams before they ever reach the senior.Uncompromising Transparency: Distance requires total visibility. Families are never left in the dark wondering what is happening. Every action, update, and dispatch is clearly communicated and securely documented in real-time.Dignity Through Independence: True protection does not mean suffocation. Our systems are designed to operate quietly in the background, securing the perimeter so seniors can safely maintain their freedom, routines, and autonomy.
Application for Oversight Services
Dedicated Support. Strictly Limited Roster.
At Shores Senior Assist, we do not operate a volume-based agency. To guarantee the absolute highest standard of operational precision and localized advocacy for every family we protect, our active client roster is strictly capped.Due to the intensive, hands-on nature of our hybrid and comprehensive plans, availability for our Anchor™ and Sentinel™ tiers is highly limited across Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair, and Wayne counties. Submitting an application ensures your family is placed in our assessment queue. The Onboarding Protocol
We treat family risk management with absolute seriousness. Our intake process ensures we are the exact right operational fit for your loved one's specific environment and needs.Submit the Intake Brief: Complete the secure form below to provide our operations center with a high-level overview of your family’s current situation and geographic location. The Coordination Briefing: Within 24 hours, our local advocate will contact you directly to discuss your specific concerns, review tier availability, and answer any immediate logistical questions. The Assessment Visit ($199): If we determine our capabilities align with your needs, we will schedule an in-home assurance audit and readiness assessment. This evaluates the home environment, emergency readiness, and risk factors to establish your family's operational baseline before any monthly membership begins.
Share The Shield Referral Program
Asymmetric Trust. Operational Reliability.
At Shores Senior Assist, our growth relies entirely on asymmetric trust. When an active client or local professional vouches for our operations, they stand behind our reliability. To honor that commitment, this structured incentive program defines the governance rules and credit structures for referring families into our ecosystem. The Tiered Referral Structure
Incentives are systematically broken down into two distinct operational conversion phases:Phase 1: The Family Readiness Assessment Referral
When an active client refers a prospective family who books and completes a physical Family Readiness Assessment ($199 flat rate), a $25 Digital Gift Card (allocated via Amazon or Starbucks) will be issued to both the referring client and the newly assessed family within 7 business days of completion.Phase 2: Ongoing Protection Conversion Referral
When a referred family transitions from an initial assessment into an active monthly monitoring subscription (Overwatch™, Anchor™, or Sentinel™):The Referring Client receives a statement credit equal to ONE FULL MONTH OF THEIR CURRENT OPERATIONAL SERVICE TIER (credited to their next standard billing cycle, capped at a maximum value of $795).The New Client receives a one-time $100 INVOICE REDUCTION CREDIT applied directly to their inaugural monthly protection statement. The Community Impact Alternative (Non-Profit Match)
Active clients hold the option to completely redirect any earned referral incentives or statement invoice values to the upcoming S.S.A. Senior Support Alliance Non-Profit Fund.Upon selection, Shores Senior Assist will match the credit value dollar-for-dollar, deploying the complete balance to purchase essential utility repairs (such as water heater emergency replacements) or install structural fall-mitigation fixtures for fixed-income seniors within our local community footprint.Operational Governance & RulesCredit Caps & Limitations: Referral credits hold no cash value, are entirely non-transferable, and apply strictly as invoice statement balances. Referring clients can earn multiple credits; however, credits will apply sequentially (one per standard billing cycle) to protect operational processing margins.Qualified Referral Definitions: A referral is officially qualified only if the incoming party is not currently registered in the S.S.A. lead ecosystem, completes their billing authorization protocols, and maintains their monthly tier in good standing for a minimum of 30 days.
Operational Case Studies & Client Testimonials
Validation Through Execution.
At Shores Senior Assist, we don't just sell peace of mind—we execute it. The true value of our protective standard is best demonstrated when the chaotic variables of aging alone meet our structured, local oversight.Below are real-world operational deployments illustrating how our systems protect vulnerable seniors and provide absolute certainty to out-of-state families.

Context & Before
Jeff Kirby is 40 years old, a military veteran, disciplined, situationally aware, and by any measure someone who knows how to handle pressure. He lives alone. One morning in October 2025, a medication he had been taking long enough to be past the expected reaction window triggered a catastrophic adverse response. His blood pressure collapsed. His body began shutting down. He couldn't breathe. In under 60 seconds, he was losing consciousness. He had a locked front door. He had a dog that would not let strangers through. He had no plan in place to notify his family, get information to first responders, or ensure anyone who mattered would know what was happening — because no such plan existed. What he had was training, sheer will, and seconds. Most people have none of those things when it counts. The Activation
There was no Overwatch that morning. That is the point. Jeff dialed 911 on instinct before he lost the ability to speak. By the time the dispatcher answered, he had no oxygen left to form words. He crawled — on hands and knees, blacking out — to let his dog out the back, then crawled to the front door and unlocked the deadbolt just as unconsciousness took him. He was out for approximately one minute. He came to as the ambulance was arriving. The door was open. His dog was outside. Emergency services got in. He survived. But every second of that crawl was borrowed time, and none of it should have depended on him. His kids were not notified. His medical documents were not waiting at the hospital. No one with authority over his home, his pet, or his care plan was standing by. He was the only conduit between his emergency and everyone who needed to know about it — and he was unconscious.SSA Response
Under Overwatch, an emergency beacon activation would have immediately triggered a pre-built escalation protocol — alerting Jeff's designated contacts with the specific, pre-agreed information each person needed, without Jeff having to touch his phone again.
His coordinator-verified emergency profile — medications, conditions, access instructions, pet information, and next-of-kin contacts — would have been transmitted directly to responding units and the receiving hospital before arrival, eliminating the information vacuum first responders walked into that morning.
His family, including his children, would have been notified through the plan — not by Jeff, gasping on the floor, trying to be the calm voice in his own crisis. The plan would have spoken for him.
The Outcome
Jeff survived because of military training, physical discipline, and luck. The outcome that morning was acceptable. The process was not. No family member should receive that call from a parent or a child who is simultaneously trying to stay alive. No first responder should have to break down a door or manage an aggressive pet in a time-critical medical event. No hospital should receive a patient without knowing who they are or what is happening to them. Overwatch does not stop the emergency. It stops everything else from making it worse. It delivers certainty — to the person in crisis, to the family waiting for word, and to the responders who need to act fast. This story did not happen to a client. It happened to the founder. That is why the platform was built.Without SSA Intervention
Most people are not military veterans. Most people do not have the neurological conditioning to override a body that is shutting down and execute a three-step physical plan while blacking out. Without that training, Jeff does not unlock the door. The paramedics break it down. The dog reacts. Time is lost. Jeff is unconscious, no one who loves him knows what is happening, and the hospital receives a patient with no context and no contacts. That is not a worst-case scenario. That is the default scenario for anyone living alone without a plan. Without Overwatch, the person in the emergency is still the only conduit for every piece of information that needs to move — to family, to first responders, to the hospital — at the exact moment they are least able to provide it. Overwatch breaks that dependency. It moves the information so the person doesn't have to. It brings certainty when everything else is chaos."Had I been able to just hit my emergency beacon and know that the plan already put in place with my coordinator — that my contacts were already trained in it and aware of it — were getting the notifications, and that they would know exactly what to do, I wouldn't have had to pick up my phone and do anything. That information was going to get to them. I would be at the hospital and they would show up. One of the most painful and hardest things I have ever done is lying there waiting for an ambulance, dealing with my own emergency, and still having to be the one to call my kids."
— Jeff Kirby, Founder — Shores Senior Assist | Macomb County, Michigan

A son in Muskegon. His mother living alone in St. Clair Shores. His father gone less than a year. The distance between them was only two hours by road, but on any given day it felt much wider. He wasn't looking for someone to replace what his family provided — he was looking for certainty. The kind that doesn't require a daily phone call that makes his mom feel checked on, or a knock on the neighbor's door that feels like an imposition. His mother's next-door neighbor was a trusted constant — someone who helped with the yard, knew the dog, had a key to the heart of that household in everything but name. The son wanted that neighbor looped in, but only when it mattered. He enrolled his mother in SSA's Overwatch Plan and they built the emergency path together: who gets notified, what they receive, what they're authorized to do, and in what order. The neighbor was assigned a limited-scope emergency role — entry information, alarm code, pet protocol — agreed to in advance, documented, and ready. The plan sat loaded. It waited. The Activation
At approximately 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 6th, the client's mother initiated her Emergency Beacon from her home in St. Clair Shores. She did not have to make a phone call. She did not have to compose a text. She did not have to divide her attention between emergency services and tracking down her son. She pressed the beacon. In under 30 seconds, a coordinated, pre-authorized notification sequence executed automatically — reaching every assigned recipient with the specific information they had been designated to receive. The system did not wait for someone to decide what to send or who to call. That had already been decided. It ran.SSA Response
IMMEDIATE — BEACON TRIGGERED (under 30 seconds): The Emergency Beacon simultaneously dispatched custom SMS and email notifications to all pre-assigned recipients. The son received a family emergency contact message — specific, calm, informative — letting him know what was happening and that SSA was already executing. The neighbor received an SMS and a limited-scope emergency PDF containing only what they had previously agreed to be given: entry information, alarm code, and pet care instructions. The neighbor was on-site within minutes — before first responders arrived — unlocking the door, securing the dog, and clearing the way. The son's mother did not have to manage any of this. She focused on the call with emergency services.
SIMULTANEOUS — MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION DEPLOYED: At the moment of beacon activation, the client's pre-compiled medical PDF — containing up-to-date personal, medical, and emergency information — was automatically transmitted via email to the hospital on file and her physician's office. Had she been transported, her records would have arrived before she did. No one needed to scramble for insurance cards. No one needed to ask her for her medication list while she was in distress. That information was already in the right hands.
WITHIN 8 MINUTES — SSA COORDINATOR ENGAGED: The SSA coordinator assigned to this client was notified by SMS and email simultaneously with the beacon trigger. Within 8 minutes, the coordinator had confirmed via the neighbor that the client was not alone, that emergency services had been dispatched and were arriving, and that the situation was being actively managed on-site. The coordinator then opened a direct communication line to the son — providing real-time updates without requiring him to call his mother, call the neighbor, or wait in silence for a resolution he couldn't see. When emergency services confirmed the incident was a false alarm and transport was not required, the coordinator relayed that to the son directly. He did not have to wonder. He was told.
The Outcome
Emergency services responded, assessed the situation, and cleared the scene. The incident was a false alarm — the client was not transported. The neighbor secured the home, ensured the dog was safe, and confirmed everything was locked before leaving. The son, 100 miles away, knew the outcome in real time through his SSA coordinator — not through a second-hand account pieced together after the fact. The client's medical documentation had already been delivered to the hospital and physician regardless, ensuring that infrastructure was in place had transport been needed. No family member needed to be present for the situation to be fully managed. No neighbor was overburdened with coordination they weren't prepared for. No emergency responder was slowed by a locked door or an uncontrolled pet. Every person in the chain had exactly what they needed, received through the channel that made sense for their role, at the moment it was needed.Without SSA Intervention
Without the Emergency Beacon and the pre-built SSA plan, this scenario unfolds very differently. Emergency services would have kept the client on the line — as they are trained and required to do. She would have had no bandwidth to contact her son or her neighbor. The son would have received nothing. No notification. No update. No awareness that anything was happening until after it was over — or not at all. The neighbor, without a beacon alert, would not have known to come. First responders would have arrived at a locked door with a dog inside and no one to help manage either. Had the client lost consciousness or become unable to communicate, there would have been no pre-compiled medical record to reference — just a group of people trying to extract information from a situation that was already in crisis. The son, 100 miles away, would have been sitting with his phone, unaware, until someone thought to call him. There was no communication pipeline without SSA. There was no pre-authorized neighbor role. There were no documents staged and ready. There was no coordinator holding the center. What SSA built was not a response to the emergency — it was a structure that ensured the emergency never had to get worse before someone knew about it. The beacon was one button. Everything behind it had already been built."It definitely sent chills down my spine to know that something was happening. But by the end of it, it was really comforting — without this, I would have been blindsided. I was able to understand that my mom was already getting help, and I immediately knew who I could reach without troubling her while she was focused on emergency services. I really was comforted when the SSA coordinator kept me completely in the loop, even while the neighbor was on-site. I don't like to burden people — so it was nice to go through the coordinator and let the neighbor focus on comforting my mom."
